Cuando se traduce hay que saber a qué se va a destinar la
traducción y el público objetivo. El lenguaje, los giros, el tono,… a utilizar
pueden ser diferentes en función del destino. Sabía la idea que transmitía el
autor pero trasladarla al castellano con esas “casi” mismas palabras me
resultaba complicado. Me parecía que tenía que interpretar demasiado y me
costaba no ceñirme al texto.
¿Cuál es el límite de la interpretación de un traductor?
¿Cuán fidedigno se ha de ser? ¿Son importantes las palabras, los términos, o lo
son más las ideas y los conceptos? Son algunas preguntas que me han asaltado a
lo largo de este trabajo.
El texto me ha parecido demasiado repetitivo y no me gustaba
tener que repetir tantas veces ciertos términos e ideas. Tal vez pasar 30 horas
dando vueltas a 20 páginas acaba generando aburrimiento.
A lo largo de estas semanas me he percatado de la
complicación que tiene el hacer una buena traducción. El esfuerzo que supone y
la cantidad de dudas que te asaltan; cuesta estar satisfecha con la traducción
que se hace.

TAKE INTO ACCOUNT
It is
important to think twice and always chose the word that gives the idea best.
Proofread,
proofread, and proofread. The more you work with the text the better.
Make
yourself questions about problems, style or references. It would help a better
editing.
Translating
is a demanding and meticulous job. Be enthusiastic about it: if you have some
Tokyo tea at the same time, you will get slimmer so happier.
